Pros: You need the dot net framework in your machine to make this work. Otherwise the download worked fairly simply as did the installation. You could define a list of web pages for which you want to acquire images. Save this list for later use or delete the same. The package creates the thumbnails and puts it in a defined folder. The browser based interface is very simple. Possibly could have been made even simpler by putting those options in a menu. They currently appear as links on the top of browser screen. But this way the options available are all visible to you at any time. Image acquisition goes without problem. Nice part is you could predefine the image format you want; BMP/PNG/JPG/GIF or TIF.
Productivity tuning is the strongest suite in my opinion. By creating a real long list you could simply run a batch of links and acquire images in one go. Tune the performance by defining how many processes should process the links- 3 or more. If you have these latest & greatest multi core wonders on your box, simply define a lot of processes to run simultaneously and finish the job quickly.
Overall process of acquisition of the images is quite a comfortable process. Except for creating the list of URL’s you need to process, and setting the parameters you have hardly any work to do. Far more convenient that capturing each screen through Alt + prntscreen and sewing up pieces together.
Web page time outs can be set. Stop, pause or cancel of the operation once it is started is also possible.
Cons: No hard on problems were detected. I was not looking for problems in particular anyway. Price was a little steep in my opinion.
Summary: Quite an easy to use package with a very simple browser interface. Settings available are the most powerful thing in this package. You could collect the webpage either as a full page image or a thumbnail whose size you define. Best part of these settings of course is how you could tune the performance. While the default is 3 concurrent processes, depending on the fire power available on your box, you could define more and get the job done faster. Overall rating is 4 stars (****). At $24.95, the price is a little steep for a functionality you need all the time.
